This barbeque restaurant is outstanding! If you are looking for some amazing barbecue while in Kansas City, this is the place to visit. They are doing some renovations but it doesn’t take away from the atmosphere a bit. I recently went to the Freight House location and sat next to the see-through fireplace lounge. It was perfect on a nice chilly afternoon. You can tell the location was converted from a freight house with the high ceilings and exposed beams.

For my appetizer I had the Burnt End Stew which was amazing. It was thick and the burnt ends were perfectly cooked. This is the type of soup that I could eat as a meal on its own. For my entree I had the Southern Jack which is pulled port lightly tossed in their signature barbecue sauce served on a french roll with a side. I chose their broccoli with roasted garlic butter as my side.

This restaurant would be a perfect place to celebrate a birthday, go on a date, or spend a dinner out with friends. I will definitely visit again the next time I have a layover here in Kansas City!
